Arabian Ranches 2 lies in Dubailand at the meeting point of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road (E311) and Al Qudra Road. It launched in 2013 as an extension of the original Arabian Ranches and holds more than 1,900 villas and townhouses. The villa sub-communities are Casa, Lila, Palma, Rasha, Rosa, Samara, Yasmin and Azalea, and the townhouses are in Reem and Camelia.

Drive times in area guides give a sense of the distances: roughly 20 minutes to Downtown Dubai, about 18 to Mall of the Emirates and about 20 to the nearest Metro stations, under good conditions. Matching the plan to the household

Long drives use kilometres quickly, so read the allowance before you choose. A monthly rental plan includes 2,500 km a month for economy, standard and SUV classes under the published terms. A 70 km round trip over 22 working days is already 1,540 km, and school runs and weekends add to it. A seven-day rental includes 1,400 km for the same classes, and excess kilometres are charged at the rate in the schedule of charges.

Handover at a gated villa

Arabian Ranches 2 is gated and made up of separate sub-communities, so a delivery needs more than a pin on the map. Send the sub-community, the villa or townhouse number, the street, the gate you want used and a phone number that will be answered, and tell your community manager to expect a delivery. The terms list delivery and collection charges separately, so the quote shows what yours will be; whether the exact address is covered is confirmed there rather than assumed.

Ask early if you want the car collected when the rental ends. Four hours is the minimum notice the terms give for a collection request in Dubai.

Choosing a car for long drives

A family SUV is the usual choice for a household that carries children, bags and sports kit and spends an hour a day on the highway. Check the model on its card for boot size and seats, and add child seats to the request; they carry a charge in the schedule. If you drive alone and far, a smaller car uses less fuel. Villas usually have driveways, but townhouse rows can be tight, so say which car size fits yours. Ask your community manager whether visitors’ cars need a gate pass and how long it takes to arrange, and tell us so the handover time allows for it. School mornings are the busiest hours at the gates, so choose a mid-morning handover, and if you return the car on a school day, leave a margin.

Rules to read before you collect

You must be 21 or older to rent. A young driver, in the terms, is someone from 21 to under 25, and they need approval plus an additional charge. All drivers have to be named in the agreement and hold a UAE-recognised licence. Fuel should come back at about the level it left at, and Salik and other tolls are billed at cost plus an administration fee. A return up to 60 minutes late is forgiven subject to approval; past two hours, a full day may be added.

The deposit may be applied to fines, damage or extra kilometres, and the terms refund the remainder within 21 calendar days of return.
