Car Rental in Masdar City for Residents, Professionals and Longer Stays
Our Car Rental Inventory
12 Vehicles FoundMasdar City is a planned district beside the airport, with university and research campuses, free-zone offices and apartment blocks, and most people who rent a car here need it for weeks rather than days. This page is for residents, professionals, visiting academics and new arrivals who want a car for commuting, for errands beyond the district or for a stay that outlasts a visit. Typical journeys run to Abu Dhabi city, Yas Island, Al Raha and Dubai. Think first about the length of your stay, the daily distance, where the car will be parked and who will drive.
A planned district where parking is part of the plan
Masdar City was designed to limit cars in its core, so the car often lives at a building, a car park or a permit bay rather than on the street. That makes the parking question the first one to settle. Ask your building manager or employer where a rental can be kept, whether a permit is needed and whether visitors may park overnight. Quick Lease does not arrange parking, and the quote cannot answer it for you.
Who rents here and for how long
| Situation | Plan to price | Question for the quote |
|---|---|---|
| Visiting academic or consultant for a term | Monthly | Kilometres and the upgrade option |
| New resident waiting for a purchased car | Monthly, then weekly | Notice needed to extend |
| Professional commuting from Al Raha or Khalifa City | Monthly | Daily distance against 2,500 km |
| Family visiting a resident for a fortnight | Weekly | Seats, boot space and return date |
Monthly kilometres against a real commute
A monthly rental includes 2,500 km for economy, standard and SUV classes under the published terms, and larger allowances are listed as upgrades. A 40 km round trip to Abu Dhabi city on 22 working days uses 880 km, which leaves room for weekends. A daily drive toward Dubai changes the sum, because the same commute can pass 3,000 km. Work out your own figure before choosing the class, and ask what an upgrade adds to the monthly total.
Choosing the car for the district and beyond
Short trips inside the district suit a small car. Longer drives to the city or the Dubai road are more comfortable in a midsize sedan, which adds cabin and boot space without moving into a large vehicle. Check the specification of the exact model, since boot size and seating differ inside a category, and tell us the passenger count if the car will carry colleagues or family.
Driving out of Masdar City
The district sits on the airport side of the city, so most routes begin on the roads toward Abu Dhabi, Yas Island or the Dubai highway. Area guides give rough values, such as about half an hour to central Abu Dhabi and about an hour and a quarter to Dubai, and traffic can change both. If you also need a car on arrival, see the page for Abu Dhabi International Airport. Salik and other tolls on the way to Dubai are charged at cost with a disclosed administration fee.
Handover to a building address
Give the building or office name, the entrance, the parking level or bay and a phone number that will be answered. If you collect from the Abu Dhabi branch instead, the terms ask for at least 24 hours of notice for collections outside Dubai. Delivery and collection are charged separately, so ask whether your address is covered and what it costs. At handover, photograph the car and keep the pictures with the agreement, because they are your record at return, and ask for any late-return rule in writing.
Terms to read before you sign
Drivers must be at least 21, and anyone aged 21 to under 25 needs approval and pays an additional charge. The licence must be recognised in the UAE, so visitors on a contract should check theirs and bring a passport and entry or visa evidence. Any additional driver is named in the agreement and pays a fee. Fuel is simple: bring the car back at about the level shown at collection. A deposit may be required. The amount is told before or during booking, and the balance is refunded within 21 calendar days of return. The car stays inside the UAE unless Quick Lease approves a border crossing in writing.
Planning a longer stay
If your plan runs beyond a few months, compare repeated monthly rentals with the personal lease, which is a separate contract with its own terms. For a quick look at what is available now, browse the Quick Lease car range and note two or three models to name in your enquiry. Whatever you choose, ask for one written quote that states the class, the kilometres, the drivers, the deposit and any delivery charge, so the final invoice has a document to match.
