Car Rental for Travellers Using Abu Dhabi International Airport
Our Car Rental Inventory
12 Vehicles FoundTravellers landing at Zayed International Airport (AUH), formerly Abu Dhabi International, usually know the next stop: a hotel on Yas Island, a flat in Al Raha, a meeting in the city or a drive to Dubai. This page is for visitors, returning residents and business travellers who want a car arranged around a flight. Typical journeys are a short transfer, a week of meetings or a monthly stay. Before you book, think about luggage, the time you land, the driver's documents and how the handover will be agreed in writing.
Plan the car around the flight
Book before you fly. Advance booking gives the team time to check documents and vehicle availability, and the current terms indicate that last-minute bookings may be accepted up to about three hours before the start time, though availability is not promised. Send your flight number and arrival time only so the handover can be coordinated, and tell the team at once if the flight moves, because the handover time and the notice needed both depend on it. If you land late at night or early in the morning, ask whether a handover at that hour is possible and have the answer in writing, since opening hours should be confirmed when you book.
Luggage, seats and the right class
| Group | Class to look at | Check on the card |
|---|---|---|
| One business traveller, one cabin bag | Economy or midsize | Boot space and transmission |
| Couple with two large suitcases | Midsize or crossover | Whether both cases fit flat |
| Family of four with child seats | SUV | Seat count and child seat request |
| Two colleagues with equipment cases | Crossover or SUV | Rear seat fold and boot height |
Look at the exact model before choosing, since boot size and seating differ inside a category. The SUV category is the place to start for families and heavy luggage. If you need a child seat, ask for it in the enquiry rather than at handover.
From the airport to where you are going
The airport sits on the Abu Dhabi side of the emirate with roads toward the city, Yas Island and Al Raha, and the highway to Dubai. Area guides describe a short drive to Yas Island and Al Raha, a longer one to the city centre and about an hour to Dubai, and traffic can change all three. If your stay is built around the island, see the page for Yas Island. Salik and other tolls on a Dubai trip are charged at cost with a disclosed administration fee. If you are heading straight to a meeting, send the address in advance so the quote can reflect the real distance, and keep the first route simple: set the navigation before you leave the car park, not on the road.
Agree the handover before you land
The Quick Lease Abu Dhabi branch is in Musaffah M20, and this page does not describe an airport counter, terminal delivery or meeting service. If you want a handover near the airport, ask whether it is possible for your dates and have the exact point, the time and a phone number written in the quote. If you collect from the branch, the terms ask for at least 24 hours of notice for collections outside Dubai. Delivery and collection are charged separately.
A day, a week or a month
A daily rental includes 200 km for economy, standard and SUV classes and suits a transfer and a day out. A weekly rental includes 1,400 km and fits a week of visits. For a relocation or a long assignment, a monthly rental includes 2,500 km, with higher allowances listed as upgrades. Work out the kilometres of your real plan before you choose.
Documents and rules for visitors
Visitors should bring a passport, entry or visa evidence and a driving licence that the UAE recognises, and should check in advance whether theirs qualifies. Returning residents should bring their UAE licence and Emirates ID. Renters must be 21 or older, and young drivers aged 21 to under 25 need approval and an additional charge. Extra drivers must be named in the agreement and carry a fee. A trip across a border is not allowed unless Quick Lease approves it in writing. The full terms and conditions cover insurance, damage and deposit rules.
Returning the car before a flight
Plan the return with a buffer, because the car must be back at the agreed point with about the fuel level recorded at collection. Up to 60 minutes of lateness is not charged, subject to approval, but a flight cannot wait for it. Keep any fuel receipt, because Quick Lease may ask for it to verify the level. Where a security deposit applies, the amount is given before or during booking and the balance is refunded within 21 calendar days. For other options, browse the Quick Lease fleet.
Request your airport-linked quote
Send your flight number, arrival time, passenger and luggage count, the drivers and your return date through the form above, or call 800 78425. Ask the quote to state the handover point, the kilometre allowance and the deposit before you pay.
