How Al Qusais works for drivers
Al Qusais sits on the Deira side of east Dubai and forms part of Dubai’s northern border with Sharjah. It has one residential locality and five industrial localities, which splits the traffic in two: residents leaving for work in the morning, and vans, trucks and staff cars moving in and out of the industrial areas through the day. The district borders Al Nahda, Al Twar and Muhaisnah.
The Dubai Metro Green Line has five stations inside Al Qusais: Etisalat, Al Qusais, Dubai Airport Free Zone, Al Nahda and Stadium. Terminal 2 of Dubai International Airport is about four kilometres from the Dubai Airport Free Zone station. The metro covers the main line well. Weekly and monthly plans for staff, projects and residents
Industrial-area work often comes in blocks: a three-week project, a seasonal contract, a new hire waiting for a visa. A weekly rental fits those blocks without a long commitment. Residents who need a car for several months can compare monthly car rental and ask for the monthly mileage on the quote.
The published terms list 200 km a day, 1,400 km a week and 2,500 km a month for economy, standard and SUV classes, with excess kilometres charged at AED 0.50 per km. Premium and luxury cars follow a separate schedule. Work out your real distance before choosing: a daily run to the other side of Dubai uses a monthly allowance faster than most people expect.
Salik crossings are charged at the actual toll plus an administration fee, and the deposit can be used to settle them. Fuel is returned at about the level you collected. Rentals are for UAE roads unless Quick Lease authorises other travel in writing.
Handover and return
Delivery within Dubai needs at least four hours’ notice, and other emirates need 24 hours. Whether your exact Al Qusais address is covered, and what the delivery fee is, must be confirmed in the written quote. Evening traffic towards Sharjah on E11 and E311 is the usual pressure point, so build a margin into your return time rather than planning to the minute. The terms allow a short grace period for late returns and charge a full rental day after a longer delay, so read the exact wording before you book a tight schedule. If you need the car for a few extra days, ask for an extension before the rental ends, not at the counter on the last day.
At handover, walk around the car with the driver, note existing marks, check the fuel level and the mileage reading, and keep photographs. Do the same at return. A five-minute check protects you at deposit-refund time, because damage, fines and toll charges are settled against the deposit before the balance comes back to you.
Age, licence and paperwork
The minimum age is 21. Drivers under 25 may be accepted subject to approval and additional charges, so ask before you reserve. You need a driving licence that is valid and legally recognised in the UAE for the vehicle you rent, and every additional driver must meet the same rule.
