Questions to Ask Before You Book a Car Rental in Dubai
Sunday, 10 May 2026

Rent a car Dubai is pretty simple. What people usually do is spend a lot of time picking the car they want. They do not spend as much time reading what they are actually agreeing to. This is where people can get into trouble. The vehicle does not cause problems. The terms around it do. Knowing what to ask before you hand over your card takes maybe ten minutes and saves a lot of frustration later.

What Does the Rental Price Actually Include?

The price you see when you are looking for a car to rent is not usually the price you will pay. This price is the basic cost. It might include things, like insurance, taxes and delivery fees. It might not depending on who you rent from and what kind of package you choose. Before you agree to rent a car you should ask the company to give you a complete list of every cost in writing. If you look at two prices they might seem the same at first but they can be very different when you look at what each one includes. Renters should always ask for this information to avoid surprises with car rental insurance and extra charges.

What the Insurance Covers and What It Does Not

This is the question most renters skip and most regret skipping. Standard rental insurance in Dubai covers the basics but commonly excludes tyre damage, windshield cracks, and undercarriage damage. Those exclusions matter a lot if you are planning any desert driving. Ask what the excess is if damage happens, and whether you can upgrade to a lower or zero excess option. Finding out you are liable for thousands of dirhams when you return the car is not the moment you want that information.

What Is the Fuel Policy?

Some rentals work on a full-to-full basis. You collect a full tank, you return a full tank. Others offer prepaid fuel at the start. Neither is a problem as long as you know which one applies. The issue is returning the car without a full tank under a full-to-full agreement and being charged a refueling rate that is noticeably higher than what you would have paid at any petrol station yourself.

What Documents You Actually Need

People living in UAE need their license for driving and their ID card. Age requirements vary and some companies add conditions for drivers under 25. Get this confirmed before you book rather than at collection when changing your plans is much harder.

At Quicklease, every one of these questions gets a straight answer before you confirm anything. Clear terms, honest pricing, and support available when it actually matters.
