Car Rental in Al Wathbah: Plan a Car for an Area Without Easy Transit
Our Car Rental Inventory
12 Vehicles FoundAl Wathbah, also written Al Wathba, is on the edge of Abu Dhabi, and in practice that means one thing for anyone living or staying here: a car is the plan. Public transit is limited, shops and workplaces are a drive away and a missed lift can cost a morning. Quick Lease rents cars by the day, week and month, and this page explains how to choose one around Al Wathbah.
Where Al Wathbah is and what surrounds it
Area guides describe a suburb planned in the 1980s as a satellite, alongside Shahama and Baniyas, with development picking up from about 2008 and relatively few villas completed. It lies on the Abu Dhabi to Al Ain road (E22), and the E30 truck road runs nearby. ICAD, Al Bihouth and Bawabat Al Sharq are named as neighbours. Guides give about 20 minutes to central Abu Dhabi and about 25 to the airport, and traffic changes both.
The wetland reserve and the festival grounds
Al Wathba Wetland Reserve was established in 1998 and has been a Ramsar site since 2013, with flamingos among the birds visitors come to see. The Sheikh Zayed Festival village is also in the area. Opening hours and entry rules for both change, so check them with the operator before you drive out. Rental cars are not a licence for any track or soft ground, and the rental terms apply wherever you go, so stay on the public road.
Which plan suits which stay
| Your situation | Plan to price | Question for the quote |
|---|---|---|
| New villa resident without a second car | Monthly | Kilometres per month and the deposit |
| Visiting relatives for a week | Weekly | Return date and the late-return rule |
| Day trip to the reserve with family | Daily | Seats, boot space and fuel level at return |
| Worker with a changing site address | Weekly or monthly | Named drivers and delivery notice |
A weekly plan includes 1,400 km for economy, standard and SUV classes under the published terms. For a family, the crossover category offers more seats and boot space than a saloon, though the category name does not set either, so read each model card.
Living without easy transit
In a community with limited public transport, a rental does more than a taxi ever could. It lets you run the school morning, the supermarket trip and a weekend visit without booking each journey. It also changes how you should read a plan. Count the regular trips you make in a week, multiply by their length and add a margin for the unplanned ones. A family that drives to the city twice a week and does daily local errands will use far more kilometres than the same family in a central district, which is why the monthly allowance deserves a closer look here than a headline rate does.
Delivery and collection notice
Delivery and collection charges are listed separately in the terms, and the quote states whether an address in Al Wathbah is covered. Outside Dubai a collection request needs at least 24 hours of notice, so confirm the return time a day ahead. Since the community is a drive from most branches, allow for that when you plan the handover. A one-way trip between cities is also a separate charge.
Rules to read before you collect
The minimum age to rent is 21. If you are between 21 and 24, you count as a young driver, which needs approval and an extra charge. Your licence must be recognised in the UAE, and visitors should check that their licence or international permit qualifies before travelling. Only drivers listed in the agreement may drive. Fuel should be near the level recorded at collection when you return the car. Toll charges through Salik are passed on at cost with an administration fee, and any deposit balance is refunded within 21 calendar days. The car stays within the UAE unless Quick Lease approves otherwise in writing, so a trip toward the border needs that approval first.
Check the quote before you pay
The written quote should name the vehicle class, the kilometre allowance, the deposit, the drivers, the delivery and collection arrangement and any extra charge. Take photographs of the car at handover and at return, with the fuel gauge visible. If a figure in the quote differs from what you were told on the phone, ask for a corrected quote before you pay, because the quote is what you compare with the final invoice. Keep the rental agreement in the car along with the registration card, so you can show both if a question comes up on the road.
A note for neighbours on the same road
Residents of nearby communities have their own page, such as car rental in Bani Yas, and the delivery and kilometre rules are the same across them. If you plan to keep a car for years, the lease to own page explains a separate contract, which has its own terms and is not a rental. For the wider capital, read the Abu Dhabi car rental guide.
You can compare the other plans on the all Quick Lease plans before you request a quote.

Yes. Both spellings are in use, and the wetland reserve is usually written Al Wathba. Give your street or compound in the request so delivery goes to the right address.
