Dubai-side Al Nahda and the Sharjah side next door
Al Nahda sits on Dubai’s northern border, and part of it flows north into Sharjah. The Dubai jurisdiction covers two sub-communities, Al Nahda 1 and Al Nahda 2, while the Sharjah portion belongs to another emirate. That matters when you book: the same street name can exist on both sides, so give a building name, a map pin and the emirate in your request. Dubai-side Al Nahda borders Al Qusais to the south and east and Al Mamzar to the west.
Al Nahda Pond Park, Dubai Women’s College and a large number of private schools are on the Dubai side, which is why family routines here revolve around fixed drop-off times. Sahara Centre, the large mall most people associate with the name, is on the Sharjah side.
Getting out of Al Nahda: roads and metro
Two Dubai Metro Green Line stations serve the area, Al Nahda and Stadium. The metro works well for a single-destination journey on the line. A car helps when your day has several stops: a school drop-off, a client visit in Sharjah, a late return, a grocery run. Most road traffic to Sharjah uses Al Ittihad Road (E11) or Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road (E311), both of which slow down in the evening rush, so plan a margin whenever you have a fixed arrival time.
Monthly rental for a cross-emirate commute
Start with the arithmetic. Multiply your round-trip commute by the working days in a month, add school runs and weekend errands, then compare the total with the monthly allowance on your quote. The published terms list 2,500 km a month for economy, standard and SUV classes and charge excess kilometres at AED 0.50 per km. Quick Lease also publishes higher monthly mileage options, and the price of those is stated on the quote. Cross-emirate commuters usually need to price this before choosing a car, not after.
Budget for tolls separately. Salik applies whenever your route passes a Dubai toll gate, and each crossing is billed at the actual toll plus an administration fee, which the deposit can be used to settle. A commute that crosses gates every working day adds a predictable monthly cost on top of the rental rate, so ask how Salik is reported to you and how often you will be invoiced.
Compare monthly car rental when the car is for several months. If your arrangement is shorter, such as a visitor staying with family or a relocation gap, a weekly rental avoids paying for time you will not use.
| Routine in Al Nahda | Plan to compare | Ask on the quote |
|---|---|---|
| Daily drive to Dubai or Sharjah office | Monthly | Mileage allowance and Salik handling |
| School runs plus weekend trips | Monthly | Rear-seat space and child-seat availability |
| Visitor staying with family | Weekly | Pickup and return points, total kilometres |
| Between jobs or awaiting a purchase | Weekly or monthly | Early-return terms |
A car for a family or a shared household
A midsize sedan covers most couples and small families who spend their time on motorways and in multi-storey parking. If you carry strollers, sports kit or three children, check crossovers for the higher seating position and larger boot. Child seats are not a given on every rental: ask for them when you request the quote, and the availability and any charge will be confirmed in writing.
Parking, handover and return in Al Nahda
Most residential buildings in Al Nahda have resident parking, and visitors rely on public bays that fill up in the evening. Tell us where the car will sleep, because a building with no space changes which car size is practical. Delivery within Dubai needs at least four hours’ notice, and delivery to other emirates needs 24 hours, which applies if your address is on the Sharjah side. Delivery coverage and fees for your exact address are confirmed in the written quote, not assumed.
If you work in one of the industrial areas next door, see the page for Al Qusais industrial-area rentals as well, because pickup logistics there are different.
Age, licence, deposit and fuel
Drivers must be at least 21 with a licence recognised in the UAE for the vehicle, and drivers under 25 may be accepted subject to approval and additional charges. The deposit amount depends on the category and your profile, and the balance is refunded within 21 calendar days after fines, Salik and other charges are settled. Fuel is returned at about the level you collected, and rentals stay within the UAE unless authorised in writing. Read the terms and conditions before you confirm.
For other districts and the full range of cars, you can rent a car in Dubai through the main Quick Lease site.
