Al Barsha 1 and the rest of Al Barsha
Al Barsha is a large district made up of several sub-areas, and Barsha Heights is a sector of it. Al Barsha 1 is the part by Mall of the Emirates, with Al Sufouh, Al Quoz and Motor City among the districts around it. This page covers handover, routes and plans for Al Barsha 1 and the branch. For the district as a whole, see the wider Al Barsha rental page.
Mall of the Emirates has its own station on the Red Line of the Dubai Metro, and the district is bounded by the E11, E311 and E44 highways. That combination suits both car-free and car-based days: the metro takes you to Downtown or Dubai Marina, and the highways take you out of the city faster than a taxi at peak times.
Walk-in collection and delivery
Walk-in customers should bring ID and a licence, and the document list for your residency status is confirmed when you request the quote. If you prefer delivery, Dubai delivery needs at least four hours’ notice and other emirates need 24 hours. Coverage of your exact address and the delivery fee are set out in the quote.
| If you… | Plan to compare | Confirm in the quote |

| Live nearby and need a second car | Monthly | Monthly kilometres and parking at your building |
| Have visiting family for a fortnight | Weekly | Named drivers and passengers |
| Work in an office near the mall | Monthly or weekly | Mileage and the Salik fee on your route |
| Need a car for a long weekend | Daily | Pickup and return times |
What to bring to the branch
Bring your passport or Emirates ID, a driving licence that is valid for the vehicle in the UAE and the payment method you plan to use. A security deposit or card pre-authorisation may be required before the car is released, and the amount is communicated at booking, not on this page. Tourists should confirm in advance that their home licence or international driving documents are accepted. Anyone who will share the driving must be named in the agreement and meet the same age and licence rules, so give us their details when you request the quote rather than at the counter.
Choosing between an SUV and a smaller car
Highway trips with luggage favour an SUV rental, which gives space for a family and suitcases. A smaller car is easier to park around the mall and cheaper to run over a month. Premium and luxury cars follow a different mileage schedule from economy, standard and SUV classes, so ask for it before comparing prices.
Insurance cover depends on the vehicle and the rental package, so ask what applies to your car instead of assuming it. The written quote lists the cover, the deposit and any optional extras.
Weekly plans for projects and visits
Visits of a week or two, such as a conference or a relative’s stay, fit a weekly plan. The published terms list 1,400 km a week for economy, standard and SUV classes, with excess kilometres charged at AED 0.50 per km. Estimate your weekly distance, including the trip to the airport, before you choose. If you will use the car only on certain days, say so, and ask whether a daily plan for those days costs less than a full week.
Mall traffic, returns and fuel
Weekend and evening traffic around the mall slows the last stretch, so build a margin into your return time. Up to 60 minutes late carries no charge, subject to approval, while more than two hours may be billed as a full rental day. Return the car with about the fuel level you collected, and photograph the fuel and mileage readings at handover and return.
If your plan is mainly a mall visit, the Mall of the Emirates car hire page covers that case.
Rules to check before you collect
Drivers must be 21 or older, with a licence legally recognised in the UAE for the vehicle. Those under 25 may be accepted subject to approval and extra charges. Salik is billed as the actual toll plus a processing fee, and the deposit can cover it. The deposit balance is refunded within 21 calendar days of the return. Read the rental terms and conditions before you pay.
