ADNOC's New E11 Megahub Marks a Step Toward UAE Highway EV Charging

ADNOC Distribution has opened what it describes as the world's sixth largest superfast electric vehicle charging hub, located at Saih Shuaib on the E11 highway between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The 60-point facility, unveiled in January 2026, forms part of a roadmap to electrify the UAE's highway network by the end of 2027.

Inside the Megahub

The hub's 60 high-speed charging points can take most EVs from 0 to 80 percent charge in approximately 20 minutes, according to ADNOC Distribution. The site also introduces 'The Hub' concept store format — roughly three times the size of a traditional service station — combining charging with food, retail and coworking space for intercity travellers.

ADNOC Distribution CEO Bader Saeed Al Lamki said the company has powered journeys since 1973 and is now building the infrastructure for the UAE's electric mobility future, with the E11 site positioned to serve high-volume commuter and intercity traffic.

The Wider Rollout Plan

ADNOC Distribution operates its charging network through E2GO, a joint venture with TAQA, and currently has more than 400 charging points installed across the UAE out of a network of over 560 service stations. Under its roadmap, the company plans to open 20 highway EV charging hubs by the end of 2027, with 15 expected to be operational by the end of 2026, and aims to reach up to 750 charging points nationwide by 2028.

For long-distance EV drivers and businesses running electric fleets between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, the Megahub addresses one of the most commonly cited barriers to EV adoption: reliable fast-charging on intercity routes rather than only within city limits.
