What is Salik?

How Does SALIK Work?

You need a SALIK tag to use SALIK which is a small sticker placed on your vehicle’s windshield. • Your current balance will be displayed on the dashboard.

2. RTA SALIK Balance Check via SMS

• Send an SMS with the text “Salik” to 7272.

• You’ll receive an SMS with your current SALIK balance.

Salik Fines & How to Avoid Them

Failing to maintain sufficient balance or using a vehicle without a registered Salik tag can result in Salik fines. Some common fines include:

• AED 50 per trip if you pass through a toll gate without sufficient balance and fail to top up within five days.

• AED 100, 200, or 400 for repeated violations (for up to three offenses within a year).

How to Avoid Salik Fines

• Regularly check your Salik balance online.

• Set up auto-recharge to maintain sufficient credit.

• Ensure your Salik tag is properly registered and attached.

Buy SALIK Tag Online

If you don’t already have a SALIK tag, you can purchase one online:

• Visit the SALIK website.

• Select the “Buy SALIK Tag” option.

• Provide your vehicle and personal details.

• Pay Salik online (AED 100 for the tag, which includes AED 50 initial balance).

• The tag will be delivered to your address.

Dubai SALIK Timing

You can pass SALIK toll gates at any time as it operates 24/7. Though, it is important to ensure your account has sufficient balance to avoid fines. 

Things to Consider

It is recommended to keep a Dubai Salik check before it runs out of the amount required on crossing toll gates. In case you cross the tollgate while you have insufficient amount, a fine of AED 50 may be charged.

 Salik account should be recharged within five working days (counted from the travel date).  Salik fine of AED 50 if the account is not recharged and it will be charged every day.

A minimum amount of AED 50 can be recharged by the authorities up to a maximum amount of AED 50,000. Recharge amount should be in multiples of 50.
