Chery's LEPAS brand launches in UAE with L8 and L4 SUVs

The L8 is the flagship SUV, offered as a Super Hybrid plug-in model and as a petrol version. LEPAS claims up to 1,300km of combined range for the hybrid on a full tank and full charge. Both versions carry a Level 2 driver-assistance suite with more than 20 functions and a self-parking system.

The compact L4 has a turbocharged 1.5-litre petrol engine with a six-speed dual-clutch transmission, a 13.2-inch display and ventilated seats. A mid-size L6 with hybrid and petrol power is planned for the UAE in 2027.

Showrooms are in Deira and Sharjah, with a service centre in Al Quoz and Abu Dhabi to follow.

Background

Al Ghurair Mobility announced an exclusive distribution agreement with Chery for LEPAS in October 2025, according to Al Ghurair's own newsroom. LEPAS is the third Chery brand the company handles in the UAE, after EXEED and RELY.

The 1,300km claim would cover a Dubai to Abu Dhabi return trip several times over, but Tires & Parts News notes the release does not state the test cycle, so real-world figures will be lower.
