Variants and prices
DubiCars lists the GXL at AED 154,900 and the VXR at AED 169,900. Both share the same engine, power and electric range. The extra AED 15,000 for the VXR brings larger wheels, a bigger touchscreen and a more premium interior.
The regular RAV4 Hybrid starts at AED 114,900, AED 40,000 below the plug-in, according to DubiCars.
Battery and range
The plug-in uses a 22.7kWh battery. The 100km figure is a claimed WLTP range, as in Gulf News's earlier coverage of the global model. The plug-in can also run as a normal hybrid without charging, so owners without a home charger can still use it.
What This Means for UAE Drivers
For drivers whose daily trips fit within 100km, a plug-in can run mostly on electricity while keeping petrol for longer journeys, which may suit commuters between emirates. The AED 40,000 premium over the hybrid has to be weighed against lower fuel use, especially with petrol prices up in October. Buyers should confirm prices, VAT treatment and charging equipment with Al-Futtaim Toyota.
